Involving higher mental processes, like concrete and symbolic thinking, concept development, planning and sequencing skills, reason and judgement, concentration and attention span, short- and long-term memory skills, awareness and perceptual skills (auditory, visual, space, etc). 

Through hundreds of fine- and gross-motor movement activities.  Our programme is designed to prevent learning difficulties by equipping parents right from the birth of their little one to stimulate primitive reflexes, progressing to basic voluntary movement and muscle control, moving on to mastering basic motor milestones such as rolling, sitting, crawling, grasping, clapping, etc. We also include more advanced motor skills to help your child become someone who can thrive, i.e. to have proper control over their little bodies so that their movements are quick, effective, controlled and fluent.

Our senses help us to understand, experience and learn more about our ever-changing environment and enables us to understand, react and adapt accordingly.  The 7 senses include touch, taste, sight, smell, sound, balance and movement and the sense of body position (proprioception).  Each Smart Fox Box includes numerous activities to help children differentiate and be aware of different sensations like temperature, texture, pressure, movement, body position, rhythm, volume, sound, smells, tastes, etc, which aids in helping them make sense of the world around them. 

Emotional development deals with our feelings about ourselves, others and everyday life. We guide you through the various stages of emotional development, by showing you how to bond with your newborn baby, how to interact with your little ones to help them to learn about trust.  How to handle big feelings like shame, guilt, distrust, anger and how to regulate these feelings from a very young age.    

Helping children to meaningfully interact and relate to those around them.  We help you to develop your children’s ability to build a good relationship with you, to play on their own and alongside others, to share, to co-operate with you and those around them, to form meaningful relationships with parents, grandparents, siblings and friends, to set boundaries and have respect, to develop their sense of humour and interact in socially acceptable ways. 

This involves your child’s ability to use and understand any accepted, structured and symbolic system for communication.  Our activities develop pre-verbal communication and babbling skills, early language skills, interpretation of verbal and non-verbal communication. We focus on sounds, vocabulary, gestures, turn-taking, conversation and communication games, story time and we include loads of examples for rhymes and songs.  We show you how to interact and talk to your little one through numerous well-researched techniques and activities to create excellent language and communication skills.

As children begin to explore, they discover the impact they can have on the world and objects around them.  Independence starts with small but important skills such as the ability to self-sooth and search for food, and later develops through skills like taking charge of bodily functions, e.g. feeding themselves and toileting, dressing themselves, demanding to take charge of their world and gaining enough confidence to try new things.  Our programme’s goal is to raise children who can function with confidence and independence to go out into the world knowing who they are, to thrive and to make a difference.

Our programme is Christian based and develops your child’s understanding that his/her identity can be found in God.  They learn to live a life with daily devotional practices to develop the ability to invest in everyday activities, events and relationships with a sense of God’s presence.  We develop a sound knowledge of the Word of God, moving onto character building and moral decision-making.  We show parents how to incorporate age-appropriate devotional practices into their daily family lives
